Churches of Winsted
Winsted takes great pride in its churches, which serve as the heart of our community. More than places of worship, they are centers of support, gathering, and service, bringing people together in faith and fellowship. Our local churches actively give back through outreach programs, charitable events, and community initiatives, offering a helping hand to those in need. Whether providing meals, hosting events, or fostering connections, they play a vital role in making Winsted a stronger, more compassionate place to call home.

St.John's Lutheran Church
St John Lutheran Church is in the change of heart business. We are a church that values people: broken, messy, wanting a real life people. We’re there too. We follow Jesus by learning His will, way and even His timing in our lives. We know the bible is His story that can be ours too. We live this out by experiencing God with each other. We value and want the joyful life He promised. We want to see the one who needs and gives care. We value belonging. You belong at St John.
We strive to live out these values each day. Three core gatherings are:
Sunday mornings for worship that’s casual, conversational. The 8:30 service has contemporary music. At 10:30 am we use traditional hymns of the church.
Wednesday evening Children’s Programming, St. John offers mid-week education called Dig In where the children dig into the bible through activity, crafts and the bible story. Parent supported and kid approved.
We also support our community with a monthly meal, visiting those in care facilities, prison and need.
